Fans Pack Tennessee Venue To See Country Music Star Chase Rice Perform Amid Pandemic…
So much for social distancing, y’all…
Country music star Chase Rice performed on Saturday night, getting back to touring nationwide with an opening concert in Petros, Tennessee at what used to be called the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary. That former prison is now a concert and events center, and fans PACKED the place wanting to hear Chase perform last night… pandemic be damned! Oh, Tennessee…

Though the venue can usually hold up to 10,000 people for a concert, they were only allowed to operate with 4,000 showing up this weekend. Still, the ones that did come packed in tight as can be, clustered at the stage to get a good look at Chase. Though the venue tried to encourage people to socially distance throughout the space, it was a no-go, apparently… and judging by the looks of pics and video from the scene, there are some seriously closely-grouped people in that place. (You can see some video HERE, BTW.)
Wow… you couple that packed crowd with the fact that virtually no one is wearing a face mask, and the fact that they all spent a few hours together there packed in tight as can be, and what do you get?! A s**t show!!! It certainly doesn’t help that Tennessee is yet another place where coronavirus cases are spiking right now, too. Ugh…
Interestingly enough, the Brushy Mountain Group, which runs the events center, has spoken out in response to the hubbub over their social distancing protocols. The group said in a statement to TMZ (below):
“All local requirements were abided by for the recent concert, and numerous precautions were taken. We drastically reduced our maximum venue capacity of 10,000 to 4,000 maximum capacity (lower than the state’s advisement of 50%) with less than 1,000 in attendance Saturday night providing ample space in the outdoor lawn area for fans to spread out to their own comfort level. All guests were given temperature checks prior to entering the venue and free hand sanitizer was provided to everyone at entry. All vendors and staff were advised to wear masks and gloves when interacting with guests, and bandanas were available for purchase on-site.”
Hmmm…
Sure seems like more could be done in the future, ya know?!

The venue did go on to say they were looking at implementing drive-in shows from here on out, which would probably be a good idea judging by the crowd that was there last night. Crazy times we live in… crazy people who choose not to wear a mask when all scientists and doctors suggest it’s the right thing to do!!! Just saying!
Seriously, y’all, we’re going to be dealing with the coronavirus pandemic for the next two years if we don’t do something about it right now! Wear a mask! Stay home! It’s really not that hard!!!
