Sony Pushes Jared Leto’s ‘Morbius’ & ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ To 2021
The coronavirus has affected Hollywood in ways that the industry has never seen. Many films have been pushed back and productions have been suspended in the wake of the epidemic which just might be the worst we have seen in our lifetime. Now Sony is moving back the release dates of several of its films, which includes Jared Leto’s Morbius and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
The first of these two scheduled to be released was Ghostbusters: Afterlife which was set to be released on July 10th of 2020. Now the film is slated to be released on March 5th of 2021. Jared Leto’s Morbius was originally scheduled to be released three weeks later on July 31st of 2020. Sony has now pushed back its release date to that of March 19th of 2021, only two weeks after the release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
Directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster while Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.
Morbius is now schdueled to be released on March 29th of 2021.
